Iron Ghoda Moto Tours is an adventure motorcycle tour company based in Nepal, offering guided motorbike expeditions across the Himalayas and beyond. We specialise in immersive riding experiences that combine rugged off-road challenges, breathtaking scenery, and authentic local culture.
What does “Iron Ghoda” mean?
“Iron Ghoda” translates to “Iron Horse” in Nepali — a fitting name for the spirit of adventure that comes with exploring Nepal’s mountains and valleys on two wheels.
How safe are the tours?
Your safety is our top priority. Our guides are experienced riders who know Nepal’s roads and trails inside out. A support vehicle accompanies most tours with first-aid kits, tools, and spare parts.
What happens if my bike breaks down?
Our support team carries essential tools and parts to handle most repairs on the spot. In rare cases of a major issue, we’ll arrange a replacement or transport assistance.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. We require all participants to have comprehensive travel insurance.
Do I need a visa to visit Nepal?
Most nationalities can obtain a visa on arrival at Kathmandu airport or at major land border crossings. We’ll provide guidance on visa requirements before your trip.
Are your tours guided?
Yes — all tours are fully guided by experienced local riders who lead the group, with a dedicated support crew that ensures everything runs smoothly.
How difficult are the rides?
Difficulty varies by tour. Some routes are ideal for intermediate riders, while others are suited for those with off-road experience. We’ll recommend the right tour based on your skill level.
What motorcycles do you provide?
We primarily use Royal Enfield Himalayans and Classic 500s — durable, comfortable bikes that handle Nepal’s mountain roads with ease. All bikes are maintained by our in-house mechanics.
Can I bring my own bike?
Yes! If you’re based in Nepal or traveling with your own motorcycle, you’re welcome to join our tours with your own ride. We’ll help arrange necessary permits and logistics.
What should I pack for a tour?
Bring your riding gear, personal essentials, warm layers (especially for mountain regions), and lightweight clothes for warmer areas. We’ll provide a full packing checklist before your departure.
What if I have an accident or fall?
Our guides are trained in first aid, and the support vehicle carries medical kits. For serious incidents, we have evacuation protocols in place. This is why having travel insurance that covers motorcycling is essential.
What if the weather turns bad?
Nepal’s weather can change quickly, especially in the mountains. Our team constantly monitors conditions and may adjust routes or schedules to keep you safe.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 8–10 weeks in advance, especially for popular routes like Upper Mustang and Manang, as permits and accommodations can fill up quickly.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept online transfers, credit/debit cards, and cash payments in major currencies. Details are shared during the booking process.
